All of the songs on this album (except for one) were written during the COVID 19 pandemic. They were collaborations with some of my dearest friends old and new. The title of this album is Messenger because most of these songs were written via text message or Facebook messenger or Bandlab or some other method of communicating without actually being in the same place. In addition they were all recorded, edited, and mastered at home on either a phone or laptop so it's very DIY. Anyhoo, I hope you dig it.

1. For Maris- (Dew) This song is the only one on the album that I wrote both the music and lyrics for. It was written for a memorial service for a friend of the Columbia music family who passed away from COVID.
2.Bristol (Love/McGill/Dew) - One of several songs on the album wherein the lyrics were penned by Aubrey Love and Nick McGill. That's me playing both guitars.
3. Baptism or Exorcism (Love/Dew)
4. Siren's Swing (Smith/Dew)- Hank Smith is a professor emeritus of banjo studies at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. He is also a founding member of the successful Progressive bluegrass group Hank, Pattie, and the Current . He's also one of my oldest friends, The added time at home as well as the ability to collaborate online allowed us to reconnect musically.
